What are Florida Skunks?
Florida skunks might seem to be adorable fluffy stripped little kittens that just roam around kissing cats. This is not the case at all. Skunks are all black with two white stripes going down the back from head to tail. While there are two types of species of skunks found in Florida, The tail of the eastern spotted skunk is mainly black with a series of stripes.
What do Florida Skunks Eat?
Florida skunks diet consist of mainly small little critters such as smaller bugs and mammals such as frogs, mice, grasshoppers, ants, beetles, ticks and much more. Skunks are beneficial to our ecosystem by keeping this healthy diet consistent.
Do Florida Skunks Bite?

When do Florida Skunks Have Babies?
Adult skunks are largely solitary animals, usually only coming together to mate. In the late spring, female striped skunks will give birth to a litter of between six and eight young. Eastern spotted skunks may produce one litter in the early summer and another in the fall, giving birth to five or six young each time. Newborn skunks are blind and have fine hair exhibiting the black and white pattern they will have as adults. Young skunks, called kits, will stay with their mothers for several months and will leave their den sites at between six and eight weeks of age to learn to forage with their mothers.
